Bloomsburys is delighted to be hosting a wonderful evening of live music on the 25th September.

Following a fantastic night opening for the Bunnies at Bloomsburys Biddenden in June, dynamic country singer-songwriter Florence Sommerville will be hosting her own evening of music at Bloomsburys the last Wednesday of every month, starting Wednesday July 31st 7pm – 10.30pm.

Florence Sommerville & Friends will feature different guests each month, with some great surprises in store. Already announced for the opening night will be close-harmony trio The Poor Pluckers (John & Sandie Paine plus Shaun Murray) with mixture of well-known pop and country tunes, plus extra special guest, Jodie McKay, along-time stalwart of the UK music scene who regularly plays the role of June Carter in the popular stage show Johnny Cash Revisited.

There’s a raw rootsy quality to Florence Sommerville’s music that belies her youthfulness. An assured performer, she takes total command of any stage from the outset and allows her crystalline vocals to shine on her well-crafted original songs. A huge lover of country music, Florence has recently returned from a highly successful trip to Nashville, where she got to co-write with acclaimed hit songwriters Gary Burr, Jan Buckingham, Sally Barris and others and also performed at Sonhttps://florencesommerville.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/Florence-Sommervillefriends-Sorrel-Nation-1024×1024.pnggwriter Rounds at the Commodore Grill and the Cambria Hotel. Florence recently appeared at the Maverick Festival, Woodbridge, Suffolk and has also opened for 1980s pop star Tom Robinson, Australian singer Ange Boxall and Grammy-winning Nashville singer-songwriter Diana Jones. She will also be opening for New |York rocker Annie Keating on July 25 (Chelmsford) and Track Dogs on August 14 (Bloomsburys, Biddenden), and is currently recording new songs for release early next year.

Tickets for Florence Sommerville & Friends on July 31st are £10 each and can be reserved by calling Alan Cackett on 077860-11477 or via email – alan@alancackett.com
