Laurie will provide you with a safe, genuine, and warm therapeutic environment, so you can feel at ease when engaging in what may be a difficult and emotive process. He will walk this path with you, without judgement, and aid you in your pursuit of wellness and fulfilment.

Based in our bespoke wellness hut, it’s a beautiful, conducive space purpose-built for relaxation and effective treatment. Conveniently located with on-site parking right at its door, it’s easy to access and designed for your utmost comfort,privacy and well being.

About White bracken therapy

 An experienced Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Laurie trained in person-centred counselling, which forms the foundation of his practice, along with a more integrative approach. This will always involve following as opposed to leading you, and offering what best supports you in that specific moment. His practice believes in asking ourselves the “big questions” that we as a society tend to shy away from.

Ultimately, counselling is a relational experience, so the relationship between therapist and client is at the heart of everything. As an individual and unique person, you have everything you need to find what it is you are seeking. However in this fast, loud, stimulating world we can lose sight of what that may be, so he will help you to help yourself in this pursuit. This can be done by working interactively and sharing thoughts so that can best support, listen to, champion and occasionally challenge you.

Laurie has wide experience in working with a number of different presenting problems, including:

Depression, Anxiety Bereavement/Loss, Trauma, Sexual Abuse and Violence, Relationship Issues, Work Related Stress, Neurodiversity, Addiction

Whatever it is you are facing, no problem is too big or too small. If you feel you need support, please reach out, and Laurie will endeavour to support you, or point you in the direction of someone who can.

Sessions are either in person, or via video, or telephone call.  Walk and Talk Therapy is also offered in the great outdoors.

Counselling is at its most effective when undertaken on a regular basis. For this reason meetings are organised on a weekly, or fortnightly basis. Sessions are one-to-one and last for fifty minutes.

White Bracken Therapy offers both short-term and open-ended counselling. Short-term counselling tends to be for between six to twelve sessions, but there is always the option to extend this.

Walk and talk therapy

Experience the transformative power of nature with a Walk and Talk session in the beautiful surroundings of the Kentish countryside (Hemsted Forest ). In a time of increased sitting, screen time and stagnation, there has never been a more important time to go out into green spaces, get your body moving, and breathe in some fresh air. 

Nothing frees us from the chains of our minds like the sights and smells of the natural world.

 

Walk and Talk Therapy incorporates a therapeutic experience with light exercise. As a huge believer in the mind-body connection,  Lauries’ Walk and Talk Therapy offers a great way to work on your mental, and physical health. That said, this isn’t a fitness challenge, and is available to anyone that feels they are able.

 

We aren’t exactly blessed with the weather in this country, but  there is something quite liberating and exhilarating about walking in the rain! As such, these sessions can be offered in all but extreme weather circumstances.  If the weather did prove to be too much of an obstacle, you will be contacted you on the morning of your session to arrange an alternative.
