FLORENCE SOMMERVILLE, Britain’s fastest-rising country singer-songwriter, has invited Gravesend singer-songwriter Mark Johnson as her special guest for her regular monthly show at https://bloomsburysbiddenden.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/08/bloomsbury-Oct-30th-1.png Biddenden on Wednesday October 3oth. Mark, who has been performing for more than twenty years, has had his songs recorded by the likes of Jennifer Crook, My Darling Clementine and Bob Andrews (keyboard player with Graham Parker and the Rumour). His song Hide Away With You was awarded a Semi-Final placing in the United Kingdom Songwriting Contest, and appears on the fabulous compilation album The Wonder Of Things To Come’released by Ramshaw Records. He is also an in-demand guitarist and producer with numerous recording credits over the years.
There’s a raw rootsy quality to Florence Sommerville’s music that belies her youthfulness. An assured performer, she takes total command of any stage from the outset and allows her crystalline vocals to shine on her well-crafted original songs. In short, Florence Sommerville is the total package. Her songs, her voice, her personality and naturalness on stage. There’s a little bit of something for everyone to love in Florence’s repertoire. Her live performances are warm and energetic, and thanks to catchy songs that encourage you to move your feet, it’ll be hard to sit still at her performance.
Going from strength, Florence, who recently guested on BBC Radio Kent, has recently returned from Nashville, where she wowed audiences at the Americana Music Festival, and will be shortly starring in her first London Headline show at the Camden Chapel on Thursday October 24th with support from ELLA SPENCER.
